About Me

My photo
I love to take pictures and after I purchased my first digital camera I took even more pictures. I currently have albums, slide carrousels and CDs full of of pictures that need to be organized and presented in some type of fashion. That is why I started digital scrapbooking. So far I have only done a few pages, but my plans are to do alot more. My camera is also great help in organizing the cards that I have made. I have taken pictures of all the cards and want to make albums that I can leave with prospective customers. I have also put these pictures on the internet so family across Canada can see them.

Happy New Year's

Well, it is hard to believe that another year has come and gone. Since my last post in October, time has just flown by with preparations for Christmas. Even though my children aren't little anymore, there still seems to be a ton of stuff to do during this time of year.

My goal for 2012 is to better organized.  I think I partially succeed with that goal last year with a lot more postings and I am going to try to do even better this year. With my middle son, Christopher getting married in the spring, life is going to be very busy for the next few months as wedding plans move ahead. I am looking forward to welcoming Sabrina into our family and have to tell you that she is a former scrapbooker and has recently had the opportunity to make a few cards.

So today while I have some time to myself (as the Rose Bowl parade is not on TV until tomorrow) I have designated today, the start of update my Blog Day. So here goes! I have cards to post, links to update, pictures to upload and more to add.

Lost, but not forgotten and happily found

I can't quite find the right words to express our happiness and excitement at visiting Angus' and George's wonderful cousin Linda and her family.  For many years we only knew, that Linda was  up north somewhere, but as George's family tree search developed, Linda was found. Not that she was ever lost, she was exactly where she had almost aways been. I will hazard a guess and say it has been about 50 years since the three cousins have seen each other.

We spent an awesome weekend visiting with Linda, and two of her daughters, Chantal and Chris and their husbands. It was fantastic hearing some of the old stories and making new ones. My only regret was that I hadn't brought any pictures of my kids with me and that the weekend had to end. Most importantly, we have found family and new friends and never plan on losing them again. I am really looking forward to our next visit.

Stained Glass Notecards

Here's a couple of little other note cards I made this past summer. These went together with stickers, transparencies and a little coloring with my aclcohol markers.

Baby Boy Sep Card

It has been a long, hot, dry summer and I did not make many cards, but a few weeks ago I was asked to make a group shower card for a co-worker who has since had a baby boy. Not having any baby stamps, I had to really think of something that I could do quickly, without spending a lot of time looking for baby stamps.

I had a lot of fun making this card. The paper for the background and the carriage were put through the cuttlebug. The words were done using a letter die cut from QuicKutz and a foam sheet from the dollar store. I could never get this die cut to cut properly, but since I purchased the metal sheet to use with my cuttlebug, the letters cut almost 100% better.  The foam cut like butter and I will certainly use it again in another project. Thanks for dropping by.
